As you and your loved ones make the final preparations to celebrate Thanksgiving together tomorrow, we wanted to remind you of another reason to be thankful. Through generous donations over the years, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has made many breakthroughs that we all get to spend many more Thanksgivings with those we love and cherish.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society funds research across the continuum,
from basic research through clinical trials, from bench to bedside. To
date, we have invested more than $1 billion in research to advance
therapies and save lives. LLS research grants have funded many of
today's most promising advances, including targeted therapies and
immunotherapies and some of the therapies first approved for blood
cancer patients are now helping patients with other types of cancers and
other serious diseases. Thanks to research and access to better
treatments, survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled,
tripled and even quadrupled since 1960. (http://www.lls.org/#/aboutlls/researchsuccesses/)
As a team, we have been touched by the diseases The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society strives to cure in more ways than one. Our dear team member Melinda had it hit home when her husband was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma. Melinda was key in starting our venture into the market world last year and we have dedicated our 2nd Annual ATXartisans Holiday Market in honor of Melinda and her husband. You can read about their personal experiences
here.
We welcome you, if you feel compelled to do so, to make a donation of any dollar amount directly to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Team members have generously donated many great handmade items for our Silent Auction, so come out to our market on Sunday, November 30th to donate and take home a great piece as well.
Hope you and yours have a safe and happy holiday and we would love to see you at the market!
